Sallymae Bailey – Car Owner
Sallymae Bailey is a veteran Basher of 20 Years. She is a professional lady who became involved in Variety Bashing when her bosses in 1999 bought the car and went from ‘Brick Pit to Broome’. She immediately was excited about the possiblity of raising money for special needs children and seeing lots of Australia, but the car was ‘full’. She provided back-up support (Houston we’ve got a problem!) and arranged windscreens and parts to be flown in Alice Springs for the crew and mechanical support in Kununurra and Broome.
In 2000 she got to join the crew and has only missed one year since then, even though she got to drive the car over the finish line of that year 2005. She has also been an Official on the Newcastle Bash 2003 and completed two New Zealand Bashes 2003 and 2010.
You could say she is ‘addicted’ to the adventure of outback driving and the satisfaction of seeing so many lives changed by Variety.
2020 will be her 20th year in the Little Pigs.
Brendon Morron from Auckland, New Zealand will be back again in 2020 for his 10th year on Car 333 Crew. What a legend!
Brendon drove a Busload of Aussies in the 21st Anniversary NZ Bash in March 2010 and got a baptism of fire driving over the mountains from Christchurch to Hanmer Springs on the first day!
After that he really enjoyed himself and got into the spirit of Bashing and can’t stay away from the B2B Bash. He is a mighty fine driver and good with the spanners to boot!
2020 we will be joined by ‘virgin’ Andrew Sims, a great mate of Brendon’s from New Zealand.
He is a professional driver and we look forward to him experiencing our wonderful outback and enjoying the kids and Variety Family. Apparently he is smiling on the inside!
