Well it’s always a tricky job to do, especially the windscreen strip but Hamlet is all ready with new door panels and sponsor stickers. All the ‘go’ bits are good and car is running very sweetly. Now for some show bits – new car seat covers, Wifi speaker for when we get bored on the tar roads and maybe some paint touch ups on the wheel rims. Stay tuned.
Brett Bailey and the crew of Marsfield Woolworths turned on a great BBQ and cake sale on a very wet and miserable day. All in all a success for Woolworths and the special needs kids.
Many thanks to Andrea Benton for her help and also to the generous people of North Ryde/Marsfield/Macquarie Park.
April 11 was the BIG day to celebrate Variety being established in Sydney Australia by the Mapp Family with Paul Hogan as the first chief Barker. The party was held at Taronga Zoo and a wonderful crowd of families and children enjoyed the day of celebration and entertainment.
A special guest joined us -Tony Abbott and his team of minders. He made a wonderful speech and spent a lot of time talking with families, children and our very own Beryl Driver OAM.
So proud to be part of the Variety Family and look forward to many more years of supporting our special needs kids.
Coleman Greig sponsored a Women in Business lunch on October 20, 2014 at Centenary Park Restaurant Homebush. Dr Fiona Wood was the guest speaker. What an amazing, inspiring women she is – so humble and talented. Shirley and Laverne, Frogette Alexis and myself attended to provide some extra colour.
Thanks Coleman Greig.
Once again Woolworths has signed as a major corporate partner of Variety – the Children’s Charity. Their Ball on November 29 at Darling Harbour raised over $150,000 on one night. Little Pigs were joined by Frogettes, K9, Shirley and Laverne, Sky Racing, the Avengers, King Joe and Queen Jan Mullaly amongst others.
It was an awesome night of fun and fund raising.
Where did the year go? Little Pigs are getting everything ready for the Bash. The car has a been repaired, sponsors are being sought, new postcards have been printed – Thanks Snap Clarence Street for printing them for free.
Variety NSW has posted this great video promo. Give yourself 2 minutes break!
The AirForce MW guys were big hits with the Bash cars who needed assistance and we used them on Day 2 for the Great Exploding Fan episode.
Brigit and Bec from Crazy Horse NZ2 used them as well. They posed for a photo with them — I couldn’t help myself so tried a photo bomb and IT worked!!! 🙂
These are why we raise the money each year, drive the kms and get dusty and dirty and turn up at places like Boorooloola, Bamaga, Richmond, Balranald, Broken Hill, Goodooga, Top Springs, Derby and Narrandera.
The precious children of Australia.
